Avery Campbell is a 29-year-old trans man who lives to change the status quo. Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, Avery used reading and writing as a way to pass the time and to escape his mind. After spending two years in college, Avery decided that higher education wasn’t for him and spent the next few years trying to figure out where he fit in.
At the beginning of 2017, Avery dealt with his first heartbreak, which was the inspiration behind his first book: *Feel. Forgive. Forget. This full-length poetry collection details love, heartache, abuse, and everything else Avery has dealt with. Within three months of its release, Avery sold over 100 copies as a self-published, solo author.
In the fall of 2018, Avery saw a lack of diversity in the online publication space, and he started Royal Rose Magazine. The goal of the magazine was to create a large platform and then use that platform to uplift marginalized voices around the world. After publishing six large issues and dozens of weekly issues, Avery closed the door to Royal Rose Magazine in August of 2023.
Since July of 2023, Avery has been building his own community through his weekly newsletter: The OnPurpose Club.
The reason he started this newsletter is that he wanted a space on the internet where he could speak freely about any topic, as well as create a safe space where he could be vulnerable, and others could learn from him. The newsletter has been viewed over 7000 times since its creation.
While writing the newsletter, Avery finally figured out what his purpose in life was: to share his life experiences to help others live the life they want and are destined for. This led him to begin writing his second book: Your Life, Your Purpose, Your Way. This is a book that helps people get unstuck, become fulfilled in their lives, and, most importantly, figure out their purpose. It was published in Spring 2024.
On Valentine’s Day 2025, Avery released his third book, *'“confessions of a serial lover” which is a collection of love poems for those who are told they love too hard, too often, and too recklessly. In the midst of releasing this book, Avery was facing the ultimate heartbreak: divorce. Despite this, he pushed through with the release because he knows love conquers all.
In 2026, Avery is gearing up to become a best-selling author. He is embarking on a new genre of writing: fiction. While he enjoyed poetry and self-help, his true love is in storytelling. He is currently working on two projects that he wants to release in mid-2027 and mid-2029.
While his journey has changed, the destination has remained the same: using his writing to help people love themselves and live authentically.
